Basic Rice Krispies
1. In a medium size pot, melt shortening. The heat should just tickle the bottom of the pot. Don't try to make it quick.
2. Add the marshmallows to the pot. Stir constantly with a spatula. Do not raise the heat. Do this very slowly with patience.
3. When the marshmallows completely melt, add food color. Stir well to have even color.
4. Turn off the heat and add rice krispies cereal. Stir and cover all the cereal with melted marshmallows.
Shaping
1. Make the face, nose, 2 ears, 4 legs, and a tail with white food colored krispies.
2. Melt the chocolate chip using microwave Melt Mode. CAUTION. The container may get hotter than usual. Stir and melt the chocolate.
3. Paint the nose, ears, and draw a large spot on the back of Snoopy.
4. Use a back of a chopstick and press again the Snoopy to make the eye part dent. Paint inside of this dented eyes with chocolate.
5. Put them all together to shape Snoopy. If they don't stick, use melted chocolate as the glue.
6. Give him a red gummy worm as his collar.
See the dog house on the back? My husband made it to make my Snoopy look more real. Thanks, honey.
